big apple books

New York City has always been a rich landscape for authors, not the least of which includes those that write children's literature. From a spunky girl living at the Plaza Hotel, to a certain crocodile on East 88th Street, the 5 boroughs are home to many characters from children's literature classics.

I have always loved and valued the importance of reading, and now that I have a child, I look forward to sharing this favorite pasttime with her. My goal with Big Apple Books is to review all of the children's literature based right here in NYC, from the famous to (possibly?) forgotten. I'm looking forward to sharing this project with my readers here at Baby Meets City.

If you have a suggestion of a book you'd like me to feature, please send me a note and I will certainly include it. Please check "Big Apple Books" under Labels for ongoing reviews.

I've been reviewing Urban Picture and Chapter Books on my blog, many of which are set in this fair city of ours. You may find some that you like.
